Joomla is a CMS (Content Management System). One of the most popular systems that allows you to add and edit content on a website. The current and stable version is 3.9.xx and version 4 is under testing. Joomla doesn't have as many plugins as Wordpress, or as good documentation, but it already allows creating more advanced structures than Blogs by default. Its use is more complicated, but it also allows much more room for manoeuvre when administrating the website. A popular plugin for Joomla is a T3 Framework which introduces a certain methodology for creating templates for Joomla, as well as K2 which modifies the layer related to editing and creating new articles. Joomla is based on the MVC (Model View Controller) architecture, which is a very good design pattern for the application.

Joomla consists of the following elements:

• Plugins that most often modify system settings or extend their capabilities.
• Modules contain content or allow you to create content in a text editor, for example, or allow the displaying of a list of users, among other things. They can also be placed in positions defined in the code.
• Components are mini-applications included in Joomla that significantly extend its operation, e.g. stores or form managers. Users - an extensive system for managing users and their permission in the administration panel and on the website.
• Categories and articles - a system for managing and categorising content.

In addition to the above-mentioned elements, Joomla also has very large configuration options, extensive menu creation options, and built-in multilingualism.
